Closing YegNews

After a month of not publishing YegNews, it’s probably obvious we’ve ceased production. I just wanted to make it official.

I want to thank everyone who has supported us during our short run in Edmonton’s media landscape. It has been a lot of fun.

And to everyone who’s contributed to YegNews, I’d like to thank you. You’ve done a great job and have written great stories about Edmonton. Thank you!

I still believe there is room for a daily online-only newspaper website in Edmonton and there’s no doubt the future of media is online. My pockets are simply not deep enough to fund such a venture right now.

At this point I will keep the site up on the web and am considering selling the website to anyone who may be interested in continuing it or taking it in a new direction.

I am moving on from YegNews and looking for other opportunities. If you have any questions about the site, for me, or having something you’d like to pitch, etc, you can contact me at asaffel@gmail.com.

Thank you for supporting us.

Alain Saffel
