Letters policy

We encourage YegNews.com readers to contribute their letters and views to our publication.

Do you have a comment on an issue that is important to you? Do you have a particular view on a story where you need more room to comment than through on-page comments? Concerned about how a story was reported? Or, maybe you would like to tell us what a great job we’re doing?

If so, contributing a letter to the editor might be the right way to go.

If you’d like to send us a letter to the editor, it must be done so electronically and can be emailed to
YegNews.com
(With “Letter to the Editor” in the subject line). It may be published, at our discretion.

You must include your full name, address and phone number to be considered for publication. Your address and phone number will not be published, nor will your email address.

Your letter will become property of YegNews.com and by sending a submission to Letter to the Editor, you grant us permission to publish and use your letter.

We reserve the right to edit for grammar, punctuation, length, libel, content, etc, as necessary.

Please keep the length of your Letter to the Editor to approximately 300 words.

Published letters to the editor do not necessarily reflect the views, beliefs or policies of YegNews.com.

Tips

  • Keep it to 300 words or so.
  • Review our comment policy. The same rules apply.
  • Keep to one subject per letter.
  • We do not run anonymous letters.
  • One author per letter.
